READING EVENTS
READING EVENT: CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY
On the 17th October from 12:45 - 1:15, 5 children from each class (Year 1 - 6) attended our Charlie and the 'Chocolate Factory Event'.
Children chosen were those that have read regularly - as a reward. Our next event will be aimed at children who have imrpove dteh most with the frequency they are reading.
We read Charlie and the Chocolate factory - the invention room section. Each child invited was given a 'golden ticket' and the displays in the room were changed to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Children listened to Mrs Holdaway reading the book, but also then created their own chocolate invention - using chocolate rice krispie cakes, popping candy and marshmallows, which tehy took home at the end of the day.
The children had an amazing time and were absolutely buzzing after the event!
Our event next term will be based around 'Alice In Wonderland', when we will have squash (rather than tea) and cakes in teh KS2 library whilst listening to the book. Ready to dress up?
