Our Curriculum Vision - St Bart's approach

Achieve Believe Celebrate

-

with faith anything is possible!

Explore - Deepen - Innovate - Celebrate - Reflect

At St Bartholomew's Church of England Academy, we will ignite children's passion for learning through developing their curiosity, deepening connections, challenging and inspiring them by creating exciting and memorable experiences!

We will enrich their learning through developing their skills and knowledge to support them to be problem solvers, risk takers and courageous to instill independence, self belief, high aspirations and a thirst for life long learning. We will help them to develop the knowledge, skills and strategies which will help them to be successful in their future learning.

We will provide exciting and fun opportunities for children to celebrate and share their learning with the whole school community and beyond, so that they will feel a real sense of accomplishment.  We believe that providing children with a broad range of engaging memorable experiences through visitors, visits and community partnerships as well as working together with parents and carers will help to underpin and enrich their learning, develop cultural capital and further life skills.

Our core values are at the very heart of our school have been developed collaboratively by the whole school community. The core values are interwoven throughout all learning. We will help our children to flourish through understanding the core values so that they develop in character, are reflective and self aware - emotionally, morally and spiritually. We will also help them to understand how to stay physically healthy and look after their mental wellbeing. Our school values will support them to grow and develop into respectful global citizens who will make a difference in communities and inspire others.

Our ‘Theme’ curriculum will cover statutory objectives from the National Curriculum with the key knowledge, skills and vocabulary carefully mapped out and built upon over time. Children will be encouraged to re-visit prior learning and then delve even deeper, building on the skills and knowledge taught progressively each year. We are confident that this will lead all children at our school to flourish – both academically and personally, throughout our curriculum, within their school life and beyond.
