House System
Every student at St Bartholomew's is a member of a 'house'. The houses are made up of all pupils from the nursery through to Year 6. All staff members are also assigned to a house. Each house has a Head (a member of staff) and a Captain and Vice-Captain (who are a Year 6 and Year 5 pupil respectively). The Captain and Vice-Captain positions are voted for by pupils at the beginning of the year.

House competitions take place throughout the year; all competitions give pupils the opportunity to win house points. In addition to this, the individual smileys/Dojos that children receive for good work or demonstrating positive values convert to house points. The class teacher is responsible for marking up the house points on the house tally chart/ Dojo rewards in the classroom. House points are added together both weekly and over the term. The house with the most points at the end of the term will win the house trophy.
Inter-House Sports Competitions
Throughout the year, pupils will participate in a number of competitions in a range of different sports during lunchtimes. In the past this has included a Ball Skills competition, where pupils represented their houses and competitions were played in Year 2, Year 3 and 4 combined, and Year 5 and 6 combined house teams. There have also been house football and netball competitions.
